Beautiful destinations are one of my favorite sources of inspiration. It's even more of a delight when I get to go to the white sand beaches off the 30A highway (typical just called 30A) along the Florida panhandle. I used to come down here every summer growing up as little girl in Tennessee, as it was one of the closest beach destinations from Nashville. We would load up the car and venture on our 8 hour long drive through Alabama (with a stop at Peach Park of course!) and into Florida. The Florida panhandle/ 30A was a hidden gem when I was growing up. Unless you were (predominately) from the southern states, you most likely didn't even know it existed. Those days are long gone now... there is now an international airport about 20 mins away from 30A which makes it extremely accessible AND most importantly, word has gotten out that the beaches along 30A (aka The Emerald Coast) are some of the prettiest in the world! Look here, here, here and here to know I am not joking!
Over the past 5 or so years, we have been staying in the Inlet Rosemary Beach/Alys Beach area, which are roughly a 5 minute bike ride from one another (or 20 min walk). I just love continuing to share this stretch of 30A with my extended family and introduce it to my new family. 30A is super family friendly, which is a major plus. If you want to know more about this fabulous area, I suggest you check out my dear friend Cassie Kelley's blog, Womanista. She also grew up vacationing there and now she and her husband own a FAB beach house in Alys Beach!! She has blogged about 30A many times, here and here are some of my favorite posts.
Needless to say, there is nothing better than being barefoot in the sand with the family back on 30A. Dressing with the beach in mind is a sure fire way to nail a perfect summer look beyond your go-to tanks and boyfriend cut-offs. One of my favorite summer styles is the off-the-shoulder style – I just added this dress (under $30) from Nordstrom Rack to my collection and can already tell it will be on repeat this season. I especially love the bright blue, a color that always reads ‘island getaway’ to me. I also love it in this color which pairs flawlessly with a nice tan.
