120: Taking the Scary Out of Bookkeeping for Online Biz Owners — Parker Stevenson
Does the thought of tackling your bookkeeping make the hair on your arms stand up a little bit? Would you rather do just about anything than face your side hustle’s finances? If so, you’re not alone, trust me.
Even the words “bookkeeping,” “finances,” “budget” and “expenditures” usually conjure up some horrible images of confusing spreadsheets and stacks of old receipts. Talk about totally overwhelming. In fact, one of the biggest factors that stops people from starting a side hustle is the fear of managing all the administrative tasks that go along with it, like keeping track of their expenses and budgeting for biz-related costs.
Today’s podcast guest knows all about that feeling of overwhelm when it comes to fully understanding your income and dealing with financial reporting.
Parker Stevenson is a co-owner and partner at Evolved Finance, a bookkeeping and business education company dedicated to helping online entrepreneurs create profitable and healthy businesses. Evolved Finance began in 2010 as a small, boutique bookkeeping firm and is now the go-to financial team for some of the most successful online businesses in the industry. Their clients are bloggers, authors, coaches, content creators, agencies, consultants, creatives, and course creators.
Evolved Finance believes that finances should not be complicated for online business owners. How refreshing is that to hear! They work with their clients to help them become organized and to comprehend the ins and outs of their finances.
Parker and I chatted about the biggest struggles he sees entrepreneurs face: trying to balance their growth with profitability. I know this is something I commonly hear from a lot of my students, so it was incredible to get to dive into this topic with Parker!
Take a listen to today’s podcast episode to learn more about the importance of setting yourself up for success by accurately organizing your finances, understanding how to manage your money like an expert and common pitfalls that entrepreneurs fall victim to.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
How to learn what your business’s numbers mean, and what they’re telling you about how to run your biz (pssst: this is crucial to your success).
How Parker’s team can seriously help online entrepreneurs who don’t have a great understanding of their finances currently or have a business mindset or background.
The traditional (and outdated) way of thinking that can keep you stuck as an online business owner.
What the number one key is to setting your business up for success.
The go-to programs that can help you get your biz up and running smoothly (it’s way more simple than you think…)
