How to Get an Email Response, Fast!
Writing an email to a powerful person can be pretty intimidating, especially when you’re starting out as an entrepreneur, blogger or influencer trying to get a foot in the door. But instead of letting the fear take control, ask yourself this one question: What do you have to lose?
If you ever want to achieve your dreams then you need to take action. One way to do that is to start connecting with those powerful players that you want to attract to your brand or business. This could be CEO's, brand representatives or fellow bloggers/influencers that you admire. After all, they might be so inspired that you took the time to connect with them, they may write back.
The same can be said for when you are pitching yourself to a company or brand to collaborate with, which I discuss a lot in Pitch It Perfect.
A well-written email to the right person can open up incredible opportunities for growth and learning.

Here’s a few tips to get you started:
ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THEM, NOT WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR YOU:
At their core, humans are wired to help others. When you think about it, all of those massive influencers you hold in high esteem had to start somewhere, so who helped them get there? It’s very likely they too had mentors along the way and possibly someone who gave them advice early on, which led to their big break. Once they’ve reached the top, they usually want to share that knowledge. Asking how I could serve their needs in my cold emails is how I earned a reply and consequent job from one of the top PR firms in the country. It's also how I earned over six-figures in just year 2 of blogging, and rebranded my business which has paid off ten-fold. People are always used to getting emails where people want something from them. It’s crazy how surprised and responsive they will be when they know you are asking how you can help them.
SHOW EAGERNESS AND GENUINE PASSION:
If you have a genuine interest in the industry or company, show it. Compliment their work!! There is nothing more exciting than reading an email from someone who’s so passionate that it reignites your own passion. The person reading will not only feel flattered, but will ultimately feel obligated to return the same level of interest. Your enthusiasm will also showcase a confidence and drive, thereby elevating your pitch and showing you deserve to be working or collaborating with them.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK:
If you decide to hit send with a blanket email that isn’t personalized toward your recipient and offers no indication of your knowledge about the person or company, then don’t expect a reply. The best way to form relationships over email is to show that you’ve done the homework. You’ve talked the talk and walked the walk! Taking time to research the person or business beforehand will pay off and, more importantly, result in a reply. Not only does it show your enthusiasm, but it can also highlight common interests that you may not realize exists. In the same way that a first impression counts when meeting face-to-face, make sure your email leaves them thinking about you, in a good way.
