How to: Homemade Summer Popsicles

With hot summer days come the craving of ice cream and popsicles. I wanted to find a way to enjoy some of my favorite desserts without taking in a whole slew of sugars and calories. Also, I wanted to see what kind of homemade concoction I could make that was be more on the whole food side, so I could share with Camden. I ordered Popsicle trays off Amazon and went to work on different recipes. I found one recently that not only cools me off on a hot day, but that Camden enjoys as well. This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, contains no added sugars and can include a scoop of protein if desired for a post workout meal (if you are sharing with your children I would omit the protein or make separate trays).

8 oz-12 oz of almond milk or coconut milk

2 whole peaches

1 frozen banana

½ cup of blueberries

1 scoop of vanilla protein (optional)

Mix all together in a blender and pour into the trays. Let freeze overnight and enjoy!
